What: Martin County, The City of Stuart, The Veterans Council of Martin County, the Road to Victory Military Museum, Special Forces, and JayAre Systems & Management have begun making plans for the annual Veterans Day Tribute including a Rededication of the Memorial, a traditional parade, dedication, and contest for those participating in the parade. Each year there are Veterans Day Observances across the nation, from festive parades and ceremonies to military displays and touching tributes. Martin County will join the rest of the nation in remembering the service, and sacrifice that America’s Veterans have made for our country. NEW this year the parade will run from east to west on Ocean Boulevard. It will start at High School Avenue and end at the new location for the memorial.
Unlike Memorial Day, which solemnly pays tribute to those solders lost in conflict, Veterans Day is a festive occasion that honors and celebrates Veterans past and present who are still with us today.
The Veterans Council, Road to Victory Military Museum, and JayAre Systems and Management encourage everyone to be a part of the occasion by entering the parade. School bands whether they be marching or on a trailer bed, cheerleading squads, color guards, floats of all sizes, decorated bicycles, wagons or strollers, vintage vehicles, military vehicles, motorcycles – everyone is invited to participate in this tribute. There are no entry fees, donations are happily accepted. In the spirit of volunteerism, please contact us if you would like to help.
Contest: Trophies will be awarded to the best in each of these parade categories: best marching unit, best band, best float, most patriotic, most enthusiastic and best youth entry (vehicle, bicycle or wagon etc.).

When: Friday, November 11, 2011. The Parade starts at 10 a.m. and ends approximately 1 hour later at Memorial Park with the rededication of the Memorial, Service, and awarding of trophies for parade groups.

The Veterans Council of Martin County is a not for profit organization dedicated to the betterment of and to help homeless veterans and those veterans in need of assistance. One of the principle functions of the council is to provide transportation to elderly, disabled or veterans needing transportation to the VA Hospital in West Palm Beach. The council also is the caretaker of the Veterans Memorial monument in Stuart and maintains a fund for all maintenance and upkeep.
Road to Victory Military Museum is a 501 (c)3 organization located at 319 Stypmann Avenue, Stuart, Florida 34994. This unique and highly interactive museum’s mission is to honor and pay tribute to all the brave men and women who have served and presently serving our country in the Armed Forces. By displaying historical artifacts, uniforms, militaria, photographs and vehicles we are able to pay homage to those heroes while informing and educating the public of their noble endeavors and our freedoms as Americans. The museum is open every Saturday and by appointment for groups (772-692-0302).
