And a Special Thanks to The City of Stuart and Martin County. NEW PARADE FEATURE New For 2011 Veterans Day Parade This year we are endeavoring to add a new feature to both the Veterans Day and Memorial Day Parades. We would like to request participating school bands to play music at the beginning of the services. This will give your band the opportunity of additional exposure to the public. Our concept would be to rotate the bands so the bands that have an interest in participating in this part of the services will all get an opportunity. We are thinking some patriotic songs – maybe a medley of the service songs and then the National Anthem at the beginning of the service – after the service begins the band will be able to disperse. We hope you would like to be involved! Please call me to discuss this further 772-220-4127. Thank you, Jim Riordan —————————————————————— 2011 Veteran’s Day Trophy Winners: * Best High School Band: Jensen Beach High School * Best Middle School Band: Stuart Middle School * Best Marching Unit: Jensen Beach ROTC * Best Float: Scout Troop 870 and Scout Troop 840 * Most Patriotic Float: Southeast Florida Honor Flight * Most Enthusiastic Float: Brownies 30143 (honorable mention: VFW 10132) * Best Youth: Redeemer Lutheran Church
