Annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony

 

What:        Originally called Armistice Day after the end of WWI, which was signed at eleven o’clock in the morning on the eleventh day of the eleventh month. After WWII Armistice Day became what it is today—Veterans Day, a day in which we honor all American Veterans. Sponsored by the Veterans Council of Martin County, the traditional Veterans Day event will commence with a Parade sponsored by Road to Victory Military Museum and StuartParades.com, lead by veterans and veteran service organizations followed by various groups from the community. The Parade starts at Amerigo Avenue at 10:00 a.m. followed by a ceremony at 11:00 a.m. This year we will be honoring 100 years since Armistice Day—end of World War I—November 11, 1918.

When:       Veterans Day

                    Sunday, November 11th, 2018 at 10 a.m. – 12 Noon

                    10:00 a.m.—Parade starts at SE Amerigo Avenue on East Ocean Blvd. and ends at Memorial Park

                    11:00 a.m.—Ceremony at Memorial Park

                    This year’s Guest Speaker is to be determined and Grand Marshall is Lew Jones.

Where:     Memorial Park on East Ocean Blvd., Stuart, Florida 34994

Who:         The Veterans Council of Martin County is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to
the betterment of  and to help homeless veterans and those veterans in need of
assistance. One of the principle functions of the Council is to provide transportation
to elderly, disabled or veterans needing transportation to the VA Hospital in West Palm Beach.

                          The Parade is organized by www.stuartparades.com. It is supported by the City of                           Stuart & Martin County.
